If you've ever played "Headbandz," you know it's a super fun way to get kids thinking above and beyond! If you haven't, it's basically this: You pick a picture card without looking at it, and you place it on your headband. Then, based on the clues given to you by your teammates, you guess what is pictured on your card.
We played our own version of "Headbandz" to practice identifying non-fiction text features. The kids love it and it's a great way to get them thinking critically! You can use this strategy of quizzing anything-from science and social studies to spelling. Check out our video below.
